Our Founder

Dr. Roderick J. Bartell is the founder of the Institute of Organizational Science and Bartell & Bartell, Ltd. - Pioneers in Organizational and Leadership Technology.

Rod's experience spans more than 35 years working with well over a thousand organizations in both the public and private sectors, representing clients across the United States and around the world. From entrepreneurial firms, to educational institutions, to Fortune 500 companies, his focus has been on unleashing the potential in people, aligning teams for synergy, and maximizing the health and effectiveness of organizations.

Rod's primary areas of expertise include Organizational Diagnostics and Development (OD), Organizational Triage (OTR), Executive Leadership and Development, Municipal Organization Management, Law Enforcement Administration, and Labor Relations. He was one of the designers of the original Executive Simulator™ for the assessment and development of managers and executives, and three computer software programs which monitor organizational interactions and "vital signs" - ODDIS™ (Organizational Diagnostic and Development Intervention System) Excellerator™, and TeamNav™.

A contributor of numerous journal articles, Rod has also taught at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania, and guest lectured at several other colleges and universities. He has served as an expert witness in both State and Federal Courts, providing testimony relative to organizational diagnostics, age discrimination suits, validation of personnel evaluation systems and other areas. Rod holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the College of Human Development, Pennsylvania State University; a Master of Public Administration, Institute of Public Administration, Pennsylvania State University; and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Behavior and Development, University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Rod is one of only 99 Registered Organizational Development Consultants (R.O.D.C.) in the world.
